All Christians Should Accept EVOLUTION

it is time for christians to accept evolution, in my opinion.. there are many reasons why i think it is long overdue for all christians to finally accept what science says about evolution.

below i will show these reasons.. .

the bible tells people to pay attention to nature to see the glory of god (psalm 19; romans 1:19-20).

Adam and Eve (and also Noah's Flood) can simply be a Parable for mankind falling deeply into the sins of murdering, enslaving, raping, stealing, plus greed and selfishness.
And Jesus came to liberate us and elevate from those evil things.

Humans don't need an allegorical Jesus to do this; morality is proven also to be naturalistic.

What's more, Jesus can be thanked for the crusades, the holocaust, the current suffering of millions needlessly with disease we COULD cure, the spread of aids by preaching against contraception, and more and more.

There is no moral argument to make FT.

There is nothing in Scripture, be it the Hebrew Scriptures or the Greek Scriptures, that condones the insertion of a penis into a male anus in mimicking heterosexual intercourse. Let's please be frank about this. It's a distortion of how humans were designed to function sexually, be it for procreation or marital recreation.

Bullocks. There are a plethora of examples of homosexuality in nature. To say it's unnatural is demonstrably wrong as it is part of nature.

You say you want to be frank but make disengenuous nature claims.

It's also completely nonsense to say homosexuality isn't addressed but gay sex is; that's like saying, "the bible lets gay people love each other all they like as long as they don't actually have a relationship."

Absurd.

But this post's title is correct: Jehovah loves gay, lesbian, and transgender people.

Statements like this make me upset. The only way you can believe this is to be completely delusional. "I love you, but if you don't change your ways I will kill you personally."

If you've seen the debate between Cardinal Pell and Dawkins, you were likely surprised like I was to hear Pell state that the Church's position on Adam and Eve was that it was just a story to explain some nonsense. (Can't remember exactly what his explanation was.)

I just watched the entire thing. Cardinal Pell can't keep his story straight. First he says atheism brings bad to the world, blaming it for Hitler and Stalin, then later in the same hour he says atheists aren't inherently evil and have the same hopes as everyone else.

also I'm sorry, but he's wrong - an allegorical view of Adam and Eve is just a recent act of desperation by the faithful. It has never ever been viewed as any other way than literal until evidence disproved they ever lived. Making it anything but literal completely destroys the entire faith.

JD, the bible has ~ 35 000 verses, and the law of averages indicates that there have to be some coincidental matches- and their contradictions. "fill and subdue", would be a evolutionary commission to dinosaurs too.

How do you reconcile the Fall of Adam and Eve and subsequent necessity of a messiah with the proven fact through evolutionary genetics that there was never any Adam and Eve, thus no fall, no sin, and no need for Jesus?

religious people should embrace the idea, that like everything else, our world-view is evolving. the feared death is not imperfection, but a natural consequence of existence. new ideas, new discoveries pop up like good mutations and if proven successful, fitting the situation, advance us. " fill and subdue" is a lucky hit in the bible, it means we are the new kid on the block on this planet, tops, and creation, evolution thrives on success.

because if you're Paulo, let's review:

you make posts k. Your posts violated posting guidelines which Simon removed and then provided to you to follow in a pm. You rebelled against this authority instead of respecting it and got banned. Instead of learning your lesson you come back and continue to disrespect it.

So let's say Simon were a cop, and you were menacing at a store. Simon tells your leave and you don't, he makes you leave physically. Then while talking to those at the store you walk back in angry and making a scene again - where is his hand gonna go? To his firearm, because you came BACK and will now be arrested.

The irony here is palpable, you are demonstrating the very behavior that is causing so much trouble.

Point blank, the Bible is against homosexuality. as the scriptures quoted in previous posts point out.
That's why I have a hard time figuring out what is in the mindset of those who are gay who have been ordained in the Methodist, Espocopalian and the other churches when the Bible clearly states its feeling on homosexuality. How do you take a vow to carry on the word of the Lord with those scriptures condemning homosexuality.

Considering your mention of ancient mythologies vs. the Bible is interesting yet not quite the same.

It is the same, they are all fictitious stories. That's the extent of my comparison.

just like you wouldn't consult Homer for insights of universal truth, you should not consult the bible - they should fall under the same categorization.

Why is this all-or-nothing, throw the baby out with the bathwater philosophy only applied to the Bible and not to the government or the Constitution?

You keep using this baby thing. I'm gathering that the baby here represents some truth in the bible and the bath water represents the bad.

Again, the bible claims to be the inerrant word of God. This is an aspect of Christian Faith. There isn't suppose to be ANY bath water to throw out. Has it occurred to you that you are calling God a liar every time you claim he doesn't know his own views and try to correct them for him? Because you are, he is GOD, and you are trying to convince people of views directly antithetical to his own expressed word.
